The Giant Arc (GA) spans $\\sim 1$ Gpc (proper size, present epoch), and appears to be almost symmetrical on the sky. It was discovered via intervening MgII absorbers in the spectra of background quasars, using the catalogues of Zhu \\& M\\'enard.
