This is achieved by individually manipulating the polarization state of photons generated in different parts of a non-linear medium and putting them in coherent superposition. This concept is experimentally demonstrated using photon-pairs produced by spontaneous parametric down conversion (SPDC). The method was used to implement a compact source producing an observed photon-pair rate of 120,000/s/mW with an entanglement fidelity of 0.99. This method can be extended to any photon-pa","authors_text":"Alexander Ling, Alexander Lohrmann, Chithrabhanu Perumangatt","cross_cats":["physics.optics"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"quant-ph","submitted_at":"2019-10-29T09:37:46Z","title":"Experimental conversion of position correlation into polarization entanglement"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"1910.13149","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:3ccba3a0d09ab1d1f0f9218c4001c049f6597824a54884cbddd5a7d785f735bc","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T01:18:41Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"3f59807173d1e06d4a5bec3a8d221208e0c068f73cd843930d47236ee6dd1e4b","cross_cats_sorted":["physics.optics"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"quant-ph","submitted_at":"2019-10-29T09:37:46Z","title_canon_sha256":"9030c44498a74ab26b1e1237351e6e8f2047b776854834e3a0c9104ebddf3009"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"1910.13149","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"00aacdd0bb4493e299c97335bc7f951b22a63faf6566b44a26f479ce10f4452e","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"00aacdd0bb4493e299c97335bc7f951b22a63faf6566b44a26f479ce10f4452e","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T01:18:41.421127Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T01:18:41.421127Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"PMZpoj92cvBJxjrqHrZfOn7NCCb15YJevWA/nXOnPqQ/2kHFcT5zhsHdhhgY4ifrkTyzu4mEelbSzExmUuyKDg==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T01:18:41.421677Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"1910.13149","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:3ccba3a0d09ab1d1f0f9218c4001c049f6597824a54884cbddd5a7d785f735bc","sha256:1a198c32b135832c322097cb2c22a71c69108009bf0c99676e79c6010cb671cf"],"state_sha256":"9916b16a717f9f1c2e4ed3da10f4a1f4312703545d03759ebc23eb163830a838"}
