We have considered the complex scalar field satisfying Dirichlet boundary conditions between two parallel plates separated by a small distance. An appropriate tensor parametrization allowed us to study the Casimir effect in three setups: isotropic, anisotropic parity-odd, and anisotropic parity-even.
