We show that mutation of $\\tau$-exceptional sequences over $\\Lambda = R\\otimes_k kQ \\cong RQ$ in the sense of Buan, Hanson, and Marsh coincides with the classical mutation of exceptional sequences defined by Crawley-Boevey and Ringel.
