The proposed system allows for spectroscopy of high-flux multi-MeV gamma-ray beams with MeV energy resolution in a compact design. In its basic configuration, the spectrometer exploits conversion of gamma-rays into electrons via Compton scattering in a low-Z material. The scattered electron population is then spectrally resolved using a magnetic spectrometer. The detector is shown to be effective for gamma-ray energies between 3 and 20MeV. The main properties of the spectrometer are confirmed by Monte-Carlo simulations."},"verification_status":{"content_addressed":true,"pith_receipt":true,"author_attested":false,"weak_author_claims":0,"strong_author_claims":0,"externally_anchored":false,"storage_verified":false,"citation_signatures":0,"replication_records":0,"graph_snapshot":true,"references_resolved":false,"formal_links_present":false},"canonical_record":{"source":{"id":"1403.5992","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"metadata":{"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"physics.ins-det","submitted_at":"2014-03-24T15:18:04Z","cross_cats_sorted":[],"title_canon_sha256":"e24366ead911c5cf4e4f63726cb5eab1e25fe5efcc17c65181df124844e50435","abstract_canon_sha256":"5f6659c880e59214913242980b1bbe1e85bdf96d8e478ad7694fecf08aca077e"},"schema_version":"1.0"},"receipt":{"kind":"pith_receipt","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","algorithm":"ed25519","signed_at":"2026-05-18T01:43:51.867954Z","signature_b64":"OyDOS1qY7eGDS2oF2qBt7APnXBD+A5IDRZCND7iBjxcXJmYoKcVTPOpIbor+MT9/bHDe73bnPJSxtM78eNquDw==","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","receipt_version":"0.3","canonical_sha256":"12b00bfdd50a7effafdb21533f79b5a6dd6323895623bf1387bf9207717e6e37","last_reissued_at":"2026-05-18T01:43:51.867301Z","signature_status":"signed_v1","first_computed_at":"2026-05-18T01:43:51.867301Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54"},"graph_snapshot":{"paper":{"title":"Design of a Compact Spectrometer for High-Flux MeV Gamma-Ray Beams","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","headline":"","cross_cats":[],"primary_cat":"physics.ins-det","authors_text":"D.J.
