We check the variation of both the traditional impact factor as well as the median-based impact factor, which we had studied in a previous work. We find that ApJS exhibits the largest drop in impact factor from 14.9 to 9.0, while ApJ and MNRAS show a steady decline from 6.7 to 5.2 and 5.6 to 5.0, respectively. However, the impact factors for AJ and ApJL have shown a steady increase from 4.55 to 5.35 and 6.4 to 9.7,","authors_text":"Rayani Venkat Sai Rithvik, Shantanu Desai","cross_cats":["physics.pop-ph","physics.soc-ph"],"headline":"","license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"astro-ph.IM","submitted_at":"2025-03-16T06:22:03Z","title":"How stable are the impact factors of major astrophysics journals"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2503.12372","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:942c7335a8fb208d160b4a92234b2c9269ca2c100145c25c449f123551d260e0","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T11:37:44Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"5928e59c30be324a555615c25225408b562b92ac4e3082d55936a9851d36c691","cross_cats_sorted":["physics.pop-ph","physics.soc-ph"],"license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"astro-ph.IM","submitted_at":"2025-03-16T06:22:03Z","title_canon_sha256":"006fbfe8343ace4dc933560e1103d87d236ac61e73ac675e376418232ffd18da"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2503.12372","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"1492be91898b25ae8c6eaa6da49981cbec2c9da91ae0797d7588023a0e400a17","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"1492be91898b25ae8c6eaa6da49981cbec2c9da91ae0797d7588023a0e400a17","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T11:37:44.138255Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T11:37:44.138255Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"dKTQm4NuF+BzhCbjU7J4HQ1WxI+wTcMhNhrpnYy16pqhU4ku+cg8tjG0W9SWw7mmzkRbWKX2Cad9SocdjT5QBw==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T11:37:44.138811Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2503.12372","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:942c7335a8fb208d160b4a92234b2c9269ca2c100145c25c449f123551d260e0","sha256:b6e093462b1ba3dd9961fe4cc40b712a022f9f2b36e8dd66487da319e8d5ac04"],"state_sha256":"ece4c235700c2b93805182a8eb28ef700650edd933042eee4c3f4d862895cb77"}
