For a very weakly irreducible hyperbolic automorphism $L$ we show that any $C^1$ conjugacy is $C^\\infty$. For a very weakly irreducible ergodic partially hyperbolic automorphism $L$ we show that any $C^{1+\\text{H\\\"older}}$ conjugacy is $C^\\infty$.
