The methods center around the construction of certain specialized hyper-aperiodic elements, which produce compact subflows with useful properties. For example, we show that there is no continuous $3$-coloring of the Cayley graph on $F(2^{\\mathbb{Z}^2})$, the free part of the shift action of $\\mathbb{Z}^2$ on $2^{\\mathbb{Z}^2}$. With earlier work of the authors this computes the continuous chromatic number of $F(2^{\\mathbb{Z}^2})","authors_text":"Brandon Seward, Edward Krohne, Steve Jackson, Su Gao","cross_cats":["math.CO","math.GR"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.LO","submitted_at":"2018-03-11T01:06:58Z","title":"Continuous Combinatorics of Abelian Group Actions"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"1803.03872","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:cbbf7f581b689c0474063da0b267100b4c3b025d9258f066bb8be706a1097b42","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T05:58:12Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"d478b4fbf98cec3eed9a4433934a18a48a190d3d665df24a440155ac908e49bc","cross_cats_sorted":["math.CO","math.GR"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.LO","submitted_at":"2018-03-11T01:06:58Z","title_canon_sha256":"0cf1ec90241169c4b5c33d671bc9f7589764f7bea9fd1b363f940e6c4a2363be"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"1803.03872","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"2b15b4ca53265ebd0029dd1d9d971d1913b9318218851c9e8e319d65553ae73c","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"2b15b4ca53265ebd0029dd1d9d971d1913b9318218851c9e8e319d65553ae73c","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T05:58:12.952499Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T05:58:12.952499Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"3xAKhI629RiwrrzIH7pZ30uczI2XQHUoluLvkmc0yCQxurf1hpL6s2dhVjsu7ZKdkD/W937xBvLwvNA+qoD5BA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T05:58:12.952876Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"1803.03872","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:cbbf7f581b689c0474063da0b267100b4c3b025d9258f066bb8be706a1097b42","sha256:05a72c45bc27acb3df2e4366e1fd5339a8442f0e8fadf025c2536bf3526d59b5"],"state_sha256":"78b845c903ca7f430c3d299f33383b071d18fdfa4b62447ed6340528c6d5a3f7"}
