Special attention is paid into quantifying the strong interaction effects, focussing on the interaction among the two {\\Lambda} hyperons which induces novel weak transitions, whereby {\\Lambda}{\\Lambda}, {\\Xi}N and {\\Sigma}{\\Sigma} states decay into a hyperon-nucleon pair.
