The index of these theories is known in terms of unitary matrix integrals, which we calculate using the recently-developed technique of elliptic extension. This technique allows us to easily evaluate the integral as a sum over saddle points of an effective action in the limit where the rank of the gauge group is infinite. For a generic quiver theory under consideration, we find a special family of saddles whose effective action takes a universal form","authors_text":"Alejandro Cabo-Bizet, Dario Martelli, Davide Cassani, Sameer Murthy","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"hep-th","submitted_at":"2020-05-21T13:57:41Z","title":"The large-$N$ limit of the 4d $\\mathcal{N}=1$ superconformal index"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2005.10654","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:d4fa9b9578a8ea38c56d804559fd4af54c33e2ada1912c703040eb357090190a","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T02:02:35Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"f002c09a874b487dbbf03975c538b61d58b85194362ae457f91e62526c033867","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"hep-th","submitted_at":"2020-05-21T13:57:41Z","title_canon_sha256":"f278b97c12dde5237499e65f86e9dd54b10c5dc9fccc108a8dcfdde55c6d38a2"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2005.10654","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"30356a716415dbbd087ace89930dcdba7dd11832b3e298fc2368f48de9173049","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"30356a716415dbbd087ace89930dcdba7dd11832b3e298fc2368f48de9173049","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T02:02:35.767130Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T02:02:35.767130Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"ZYLIP0ihM44uP2snaSJovlzu7lxkkSEvrBrWjDvSDR8auFslEnqrJwkUepF9BhrxPJj47mNsykVYWCw2hFEXBA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T02:02:35.767689Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2005.10654","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:d4fa9b9578a8ea38c56d804559fd4af54c33e2ada1912c703040eb357090190a","sha256:3a8f90b591d343fbca9679302189b788079cbb0f5bc7ebed2fb6d5f454404030"],"state_sha256":"9631e305673c786124c6d4db9d6318d62e2f96f51a1db529f0ecdc8168ab7c12"}
