A deep mathematical understanding of the KPZ equation for $d=1$ has been achieved in recent years, and the case $d\\ge 3$ has also seen some progress. The most physically relevant case of $d=2$, however, is not very well-understood mathematically, largely due to the renormalization that is required: in the language of renormalization group analysis, the $d=2$ case is neither ultraviolet superrenormalizable like the $d=1$ case nor infrared superrenormalizable like the $d\\ge 3$ cas","authors_text":"Alexander Dunlap, Sourav Chatterjee","cross_cats":["cond-mat.stat-mech","math-ph","math.AP","math.MP"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.PR","submitted_at":"2018-09-04T06:01:17Z","title":"Constructing a solution of the $(2+1)$-dimensional KPZ equation"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"1809.00803","kind":"arxiv","version":4},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:839b8bf26519c6a7d2bdeb6dc2db63fefa8fcf914d45fe5a78513cd97a2b97d6","target":"record","created_at":"2026-05-17T23:44:48Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"56937d6a4ec65a85c95ad314d31143f7ce38b66247bfdfc69872d20fcf3c2faa","cross_cats_sorted":["cond-mat.stat-mech","math-ph","math.AP","math.MP"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.PR","submitted_at":"2018-09-04T06:01:17Z","title_canon_sha256":"e294ca878d345d01a42840698d297273f642655bfa2eb2ec5bc522dce003e042"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"1809.00803","kind":"arxiv","version":4}},"canonical_sha256":"307a301a47d4ac61fae265f13e8d16ea82173633519afe523f3e7aade76fbc07","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"307a301a47d4ac61fae265f13e8d16ea82173633519afe523f3e7aade76fbc07","first_computed_at":"2026-05-17T23:44:48.138601Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-05-17T23:44:48.138601Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"UaMb9edPeCG0yOQ+zL6rRknMgBhbLB3MnJKo9NI1qU2akkcj18xZoiR5UKueMd68tMhn5Ep7O+fUuDJVOCeEAg==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-05-17T23:44:48.139231Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"1809.00803","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":4}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:839b8bf26519c6a7d2bdeb6dc2db63fefa8fcf914d45fe5a78513cd97a2b97d6","sha256:b9809df530b950735b2f52c9004eef270be1e2e32a601d3b739bda81f277250a"],"state_sha256":"f4a1e1e4972659c3470001c54c3fc6de22029c90c55787601ccd44791288b14c"}
