In Monte Carlo simulation we find that the correlation is however moderate, a feature that we attribute to characteristics of the underlying non-perturbative dynamics. Consequently, `neutral-proportional-to-charge' (NpC) pileup mitigation approaches do not outperform existing, area-based, pileup removal methods.
