Here we investigate the electronic properties of hexagonal boron nitride/silicene (BN/Si) vdWHs using first-principles calculations. We calculate the energy band structures of BN/Si/BN heterostructures with different rotation angles and find that the electronic properties of silicene are retained and protected robustly by the BN layers. In BN/Si/BN/Si/BN heterostructure, we find that the band structure near the Fermi energy is sensitive to the stacking configurations of the silicene layers","authors_text":"Geng Li, Hong-Jun Gao, Shixuan Du, Yu-Yang Zhang, Ze-Bin Wu","cross_cats":["physics.comp-ph"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"cond-mat.mtrl-sci","submitted_at":"2021-03-06T23:34:04Z","title":"Electronic properties of silicene in BN/silicene van der Waals heterostructures"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2103.04212","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:155523d8cc76bc75225160645ab58403cd3014bfcadfd118a3a17bd8f866ff7d","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T02:21:03Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"cc68a59916e62e141a2bec50a6d699f4a80c808cdf822e78730e1ceda88b7280","cross_cats_sorted":["physics.comp-ph"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"cond-mat.mtrl-sci","submitted_at":"2021-03-06T23:34:04Z","title_canon_sha256":"1b2049a5cd3c10984692afe7fc66dc120f273ec49cfc4d3fae0b24686a182825"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2103.04212","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"3ab7c3c8c99a61937ff82618ff55c7d8260b6491bc14099829a230d4f604ddcd","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"3ab7c3c8c99a61937ff82618ff55c7d8260b6491bc14099829a230d4f604ddcd","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T02:21:03.534497Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T02:21:03.534497Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"Z6ue1iwz32ZkZJc0QXOisvk+n8DzYCL6WEqhfXx17fnjWYG3SznuhAK4TrIlhmgB1lAgYpSgeGHXOgQuzAUNBQ==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T02:21:03.534916Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2103.04212","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:155523d8cc76bc75225160645ab58403cd3014bfcadfd118a3a17bd8f866ff7d","sha256:9e68dc555cf4fb0e126659089bf19447823ec72244dbc448a19ac1deff9dca71"],"state_sha256":"54a183668d6c8f3fdfde696d0180770f57aeb4c038a37813f9714a1b8cad7d7b"}
