Having in view the generation of these states we propose a non-degenerate optical parametric oscillator(NOPO) driven by an amplitude-modulated pump field. We develop semi-classical and quantum theories of this device for all operational regimes concluding that, contrary to ordinary NOPO, the continuous-variable entanglement becomes approximately perfect for high level of modulation.
