We prove the existence of a set $\\Omega$, different from a ball,  which minimizes the ratio $\\delta(\\Omega)/\\lambda^2(\\Omega)$, where $\\delta$ is the isoperimetric deficit and $\\lambda$ the Fraenkel asymmetry, giving a new proof ofthe quantitative isoperimetric inequality.
