By judiciously modulating the phase-front of a monochromatic laser beam, we experimentally generate speckle patterns with arbitrarily-tailored intensity probability-density functions. Relative to Rayleigh speckles, our customized speckles exhibit radically different topologies yet maintain the same spatial correlation length.
