Here, we focus on superradiant-triggered instabilities and quasi-normal modes. We consider a compressible hydrodynamic vortex characterized by a polytropic equation of state, the {\\it polytropic hydrodynamic vortex}, a purely circulating system with an ergoregion but no event horizon.
