In this paper we give an inversion formula for the symmetric case and relate it to a combinatoric structure called the Grossman-Larson Algebra. We use these tools to prove the symmetric Jacobian Conjecture for the case $F=X-H$ with $H$ homogeneous and $JH^{3}=0$. Other special results are also derived. We pose a combinatorial statement which would give a complete proof the Jacobian Conjecture.","authors_text":"David Wright","cross_cats":["math.AC","math.AG"],"headline":"","license":"","primary_cat":"math.CO","submitted_at":"2005-11-08T20:49:46Z","title":"The Jacobian Conjecture as a problem in combinatorics"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"math/0511214","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:dcaa6a85f9b2b1fdb0ed4d49dad7d6e242d7cd9d86779c3817383b30b639f96e","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-04T14:51:40Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"377250009f6bf7ca205a2b9972d8505428816352e01d5d487c7e0a821fa30ada","cross_cats_sorted":["math.AC","math.AG"],"license":"","primary_cat":"math.CO","submitted_at":"2005-11-08T20:49:46Z","title_canon_sha256":"b28ef95eba13461923ca0d8aa1a65cd00b84c1987a64fce60b4361658486fb35"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"math/0511214","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"48e28bfc7bcfdb3d4cb79c65f637bb70fc95c2601ea57790eb0a6f24f2d689b4","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"48e28bfc7bcfdb3d4cb79c65f637bb70fc95c2601ea57790eb0a6f24f2d689b4","first_computed_at":"2026-07-04T14:51:40.570914Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-04T14:51:40.570914Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"uQ3u4jb8Ns+oXtgAYFk6m52q46ZG1LHrvWhpbjqVpnM9lsQW7sFnXYs/O2NHddnprEosZzN88awkB9J3jDX8DQ==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-04T14:51:40.571250Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"math/0511214","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:dcaa6a85f9b2b1fdb0ed4d49dad7d6e242d7cd9d86779c3817383b30b639f96e","sha256:049f6beafc24eb121a11a957aaf2ca44396084c072b6e4b6b6011fdae6615c0d"],"state_sha256":"184e3a0e1708ce65c92c052ac46da228311325ef35581e53bf5b3cbe292a90a8"}
