By comparing the masses and decay properties of the $3^3P_2$ and $2^3F_2$ charmed mesons with the observation of the $D_2^\\ast(3000)$, we conclude that the most possible assignment of the $D_2^\\ast(3000)$ is the $3^3P_2$ charmed meson, while the assignment of the $2^3F_2$ charmed meson could not be fully exclude.
