The scalar field, $\\Phi_1$, is assumed to have a spontaneous symmetry breaking self interaction potential which gives a mass to the \"magnetic\" gauge potential and \"magnetic\" photon, while the other \"electric\" gauge potential and \"electric\" photon remain massless.
