As an experimental observation we notice non-trivial (non-Gaussian) fluctuations of the measured values. For a fixed impact velocity, the probability density of the coefficient of restitution, $p(\\epsilon)$, is formed by two exponential functions (one increasing, one decreasing) of different slope.
