Due to the Hubbard repulsion between electrons at the impurity, the optical transitions between the impurity level and the Fermi sea states lead to an optically-induced Kondo effect. In particular, the third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility logarithmiclly diverges at the absorption threshold.
