The MIR flare began in the first half of 2014, peaked around the end of 2015, and faded in 2017. During these years, energy more than $7\\times10^{50}$ erg was released in the infrared, and the flare's MIR color was generally turning red. We detected neither optical nor ultraviolet (UV) variation corresponding to the MIR flare based on available data. We explained the MIR flare using a dust echo model in which the radiative transfer is involved. The MIR flare can b","authors_text":"Chenwei Yang, Ge Li, Hongyan Zhou, Liming Dou, Lin Yan, Luming Sun, Ning Jiang, Tinggui Wang, Xiang Pan, Zhenfeng Sheng, Zhihao Zhong","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/","primary_cat":"astro-ph.GA","submitted_at":"2020-06-22T01:30:45Z","title":"A Mid-infrared Flare in the Active Galaxy MCG-02-04-026: Dust Echo of a Nuclear Transient Event"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2006.11963","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:d162cc03272b4f248e26c40e7ed9c4b9b1ec18ec79de19954d9fe88c2e7f2677","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T01:26:19Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"9bf82362bd8fb77268eb0a3f5b3464d6583cb38ec3b3542eb393f61ce1460e08","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/","primary_cat":"astro-ph.GA","submitted_at":"2020-06-22T01:30:45Z","title_canon_sha256":"50eb0c41772ffe58ea2a899252d0ffec5a08d9043c13698f37cfefd6a0cf1890"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2006.11963","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"5fa524f45d5f167418f6e29f6f03394c7767ad867393a0373d778d6618af6dfd","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"5fa524f45d5f167418f6e29f6f03394c7767ad867393a0373d778d6618af6dfd","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T01:26:19.536508Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T01:26:19.536508Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"cF0mt8WIF2ZL6Qw9spHwKvlLBjUBDfVkQBkMyJyDKRQCDAMxHkZEs5jnkpVlZ5xzO7G9N7JEeD/uJYIH4DW3Cg==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T01:26:19.536932Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2006.11963","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:d162cc03272b4f248e26c40e7ed9c4b9b1ec18ec79de19954d9fe88c2e7f2677","sha256:40ebb05a0363cc092e5c396c628f639394f2cbf13d8e0895d756f08ad8f77805"],"state_sha256":"e5926d10c4ffb81c909631c32804c3776e49ce734bf427dfdb6a3ffe7541666d"}
