Global sensitivity analysis aims to identify the parameters whose uncertainty has the largest impact on the variability of a quantity of interest (output of the model). One of the statistical tools used to quantify the influence of each input variable on the output is the Sobol sensitivity index. We consider the statistical estimation of this index from a finite sample of model outputs: we present two estimators and state a central limit theorem for each. We show that one of these estimators has an optimal asympt","authors_text":"Agnes Lagnoux-Renaudie (IMT), Alexandre Janon (INRIA Grenoble Rh\\^one-Alpes / LJK Laboratoire Jean Kuntzmann, Cl\\'ementine Prieur (INRIA Grenoble Rh\\^one-Alpes / LJK Laboratoire Jean Kuntzmann, Ma\\\"elle Nodet (INRIA Grenoble Rh\\^one-Alpes / LJK Laboratoire Jean Kuntzmann), - M\\'ethodes d'Analyse Stochastique des Codes et Traitements Num\\'eriques), Thierry Klein (IMT)","cross_cats":["stat.AP","stat.CO","stat.TH"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.ST","submitted_at":"2013-03-26T12:20:03Z","title":"Asymptotic normality and efficiency of two Sobol index estimators"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"1303.6451","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:359e56f6ada4e96caa9202434d3fd3f99db5de40e2205ec782f270b6a22422d2","target":"record","created_at":"2026-05-18T03:29:49Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"58c4cd2c73d66bf9298f798c8c4277827ef25f2b6b7f5d224c15e50be3417343","cross_cats_sorted":["stat.AP","stat.CO","stat.TH"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.ST","submitted_at":"2013-03-26T12:20:03Z","title_canon_sha256":"54d70151c0ad2c7e70af1d510d86aa616cfd6a89f3ddc200a38bd66c7a49a0f0"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"1303.6451","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"5ab54589319da38c771e8c422dcd1eafa88624f7a04e1c4554719b895713664d","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"5ab54589319da38c771e8c422dcd1eafa88624f7a04e1c4554719b895713664d","first_computed_at":"2026-05-18T03:29:49.436115Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-05-18T03:29:49.436115Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"OnQksY/nhUKEMJnRpTujp3dkSIK4yj1PoeZhR+2DK/Oj3boKONlU4jb11la0Zfo6OR9OwGsSWBxPhmalxBd/DA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-05-18T03:29:49.436993Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"1303.6451","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:359e56f6ada4e96caa9202434d3fd3f99db5de40e2205ec782f270b6a22422d2","sha256:7708dac0350711d25f1041c38b4debf661ce03eae93d50e7103e7c6095d3c458"],"state_sha256":"21e31e61a7ac62be6373f21280e7e0c5fcce7b706dccb8b82f1fcbe953620e27"}
