The spatiotemporal structure of convection rolls propagating downstream in an externally imposed flow is determined for six different inlet/outlet boundary conditions. Results are obtained by numerical simulations of the Navier-Stokes equations and by comparison with the corresponding Ginzburg-Landau amplitude equation.
