Our structures are designed by a genetic optimization algorithm coupled to a transfer matrix code. Coupled mode theory (CMT) analysis, in accordance with transfer matrix method (TMM) results, indicates the existence of a critical coupling in a graphene monolayer for perfect absorptions.
