We solve for the single particle states using the ab initio based tight-binding model containing metal $d$ and sulfur $p$ orbitals. The metal orbitals contribution evolving from $K$ to $\\Gamma$ points results in conduction-valence band nesting and a set of second minima at $Q$ points in the conduction band. There are three $Q$ minima for each $K$ valley. We accurately solve the Bethe-Salpeter equation including both $K$ and $Q$ ","authors_text":"Ludmi{\\l}a Szulakowska, Maciej Bieniek, Pawe{\\l} Hawrylak","cross_cats":["cond-mat.mes-hall"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"cond-mat.mtrl-sci","submitted_at":"2020-01-02T14:01:59Z","title":"Band nesting and exciton spectrum in monolayer MoS$_2$"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2001.00443","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:e010970decfc420e45f538de142621f5c314511cc0e832c2386d61157ab8ebf1","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T00:50:12Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"db70f4b0005d3a0bc4d5098f017989e8df7eb3deb1b73fb0219d166d926c9217","cross_cats_sorted":["cond-mat.mes-hall"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"cond-mat.mtrl-sci","submitted_at":"2020-01-02T14:01:59Z","title_canon_sha256":"548b3c3cfec098a5f2039a106c548dac38509128a956ce89964a8aa00b7f7be2"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2001.00443","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"62640a59a811efcbba8ac8f4bede28636972963630ab3bb3e189671b65d5eb28","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"62640a59a811efcbba8ac8f4bede28636972963630ab3bb3e189671b65d5eb28","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T00:50:12.073368Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T00:50:12.073368Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"J995kbF9ziLNawBffvpjd2L9cZGe8R+sMJ5bgOGjlAcGvdAzinck6GaR5/0AQvqvQHC03RFVikUwSweMpdbpCA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T00:50:12.073726Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2001.00443","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:e010970decfc420e45f538de142621f5c314511cc0e832c2386d61157ab8ebf1","sha256:a6bff36f208fb428a36f2ae09adf9acd988fec9fdd34351997f008d084b980f6"],"state_sha256":"4759fe5da5149cfe5e8924d4e8384ce841f90cbe1cd9972736baedee4bc5f782"}
