We have used this technique to manipulate Chern domains in an interaction-driven quantum anomalous Hall insulator made from twisted monolayer-bilayer graphene (tMBLG). This has allowed the wavefunction of chiral interface states to be directly imaged using a scanning tunneling microscope (STM).
