The FMR is much more robust than common cavity resonances; it is much less sensitive to the boundary conditions, structural imperfections, and losses. Using perturbation theory, we analyze the FMR in the realistic case of a finite fragment of a periodic structure. We show that in close proximity of SIP frequency, the character of the FMR is qualitatively different from the known case of a semi-infinite structure.","authors_text":"Huanan Li, Ilya Vitebskiy, Tsampikos Kottos","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"physics.optics","submitted_at":"2017-08-27T21:06:43Z","title":"Frozen Mode Regime in Finite Periodic Structures"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"1708.08139","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:0b683f1d73916701b8207f10d65295224e0cc112aa3d26e03ba16c3492aca5bc","target":"record","created_at":"2026-05-18T00:31:02Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"3708b2042b180b9c6a398fa01909bf6ae82b1f87611e9b01ecada0b46029a537","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"physics.optics","submitted_at":"2017-08-27T21:06:43Z","title_canon_sha256":"2f5cdb226c1c10d700757fcccb9da98aff57ba2ec726483beb0eac37790e509e"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"1708.08139","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"6feab76ce5b0f4b2fbf1703c627138b78a9fa5b143f27c05372afb06c1b1cc75","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"6feab76ce5b0f4b2fbf1703c627138b78a9fa5b143f27c05372afb06c1b1cc75","first_computed_at":"2026-05-18T00:31:02.494263Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-05-18T00:31:02.494263Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"TBVvgABjY+syw8jqPMCPrRIoo4HtI5Ss5tVB/pJWznz+nU8A3YxXzbz4LheYHfdK5+4OSdPu/iM28VqdsMQpAQ==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-05-18T00:31:02.494996Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"1708.08139","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:0b683f1d73916701b8207f10d65295224e0cc112aa3d26e03ba16c3492aca5bc","sha256:c4257d335bc7ebeaae8c3bb9e10b12d381b3a0ee01fd05326d050ddaaf1d705d"],"state_sha256":"43e61b9e2bb5968c83ad6e7ae9ddc0c311dff40158f03c8c7ef2f34c676366b9"}
