We show that the semigroup $\\mathscr{I}_{\\infty}^{\\nearrow}(\\mathbb{N})$ has algebraic properties similar to the bicyclic semigroup: it is bisimple and all of its non-trivial group homomorphisms are either isomorphisms or group homomorphisms.
