Ultrahigh Energy Cosmic Ray (UHECR) protons interact with the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) photons and produce cascade photons of energies $10\\mbox{MeV}\\mbox{-}1\\mbox{TeV}$ that contribute to the EGRB flux.
