In this paper, we examine observational appearances of a star freely falling in hairy black holes, which can possess one or two photon spheres outside the event horizon. When there exists a single photon sphere, the total luminosity measured by distant observers decreases exponentially with time at late times. Due to successive arrivals of photons orbiting around the photon sphere different times, a specific observer would see a series of light flashes with decreasing intensity, which share a similar freque","authors_text":"Guangzhou Guo, Haitang Yang, Houwen Wu, Peng Wang, Yiqian Chen","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"gr-qc","submitted_at":"2022-06-28T02:34:49Z","title":"Appearance of an Infalling Star in Black Holes with Multiple Photon Spheres"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2206.13705","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:66c5fbfb9aa6355b63486409ae683578f1fdc66aed5ab6a2968978c41a55dc4a","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T04:37:59Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"3cb74b3d536d8ee40cffe953b92dbe700211d79e301bb32c6b81485ba76685af","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"gr-qc","submitted_at":"2022-06-28T02:34:49Z","title_canon_sha256":"e296f2738490abaf103808070c2127e71ac9a71ab0cb35c1d59b1ebc7cce3d1e"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2206.13705","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"6c6c2fab0cd34895df59e2e738ebef1aa8cc277a40c5b24c161227b578444466","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"6c6c2fab0cd34895df59e2e738ebef1aa8cc277a40c5b24c161227b578444466","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T04:37:59.742655Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T04:37:59.742655Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"JtmqQwoAUBiq4MtaXNfpnioduGnGIH+NON0X5KICCvmWc0SW+YWvfAIrHRFymWuh9MgSlVQKxsj9ySpUJFmVBw==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T04:37:59.743157Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2206.13705","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:66c5fbfb9aa6355b63486409ae683578f1fdc66aed5ab6a2968978c41a55dc4a","sha256:9823cde389148f67ad330657ca0fbefba441b344d2abd172d3212ca76b89cba2"],"state_sha256":"eb82b0c6fb98a15d11682c78f2b2eca5661f7e7f2596485ac0bc3a7b4c9c9cdf"}
