Here, we present a technique relying on a unitary mode conversion for measuring any full-field transverse-spatial mode. Our method only requires three consecutive phase modulations followed by a single mode fiber and is, in principle, error-free and lossless. We experimentally test the technique using a single spatial light modulator and achieve an average error of 4.2% for a set of 9 differen","authors_text":"Markus Hiekkam\\\"aki, Robert Fickler, Shashi Prabhakar","cross_cats":["physics.optics"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"quant-ph","submitted_at":"2019-09-04T10:39:26Z","title":"Near-perfect measuring of full-field transverse-spatial modes of light"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"1909.01685","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:cfb724570ce43738dddd18802fcf4ed50a17cad2ba9ce9e788b6de531b1f1529","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T00:31:18Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"958440d9875467b5f6d2ea6c60f7feeeb5d28820dae66ca784a47cdb86b49b64","cross_cats_sorted":["physics.optics"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"quant-ph","submitted_at":"2019-09-04T10:39:26Z","title_canon_sha256":"8c3a2ab198200377cd30cdfbe2f46acd696cbb33909805f816099079bbed58f4"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"1909.01685","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"7558cdee5aa763924a23f16133eb42866dd5465e429b81795f9dcfa267833b12","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"7558cdee5aa763924a23f16133eb42866dd5465e429b81795f9dcfa267833b12","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T00:31:18.085164Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T00:31:18.085164Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"jmhONhADZr9AGzjz+J5zXYKAxNXFlL14rcm2Bod/0ZQ9YPOzl/dr2Emxl6Ee1jL121lSBjIHc/heQEsyibleDA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T00:31:18.085780Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"1909.01685","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:cfb724570ce43738dddd18802fcf4ed50a17cad2ba9ce9e788b6de531b1f1529","sha256:633c23d2b5b0462feba861871261babb1a265a328471109c4a0667ce7724464a"],"state_sha256":"709be008b57b65c33168843a4c49f865ec009b4bbd9f31b824595471824ee990"}
