In each case we explicitly determine the dual boundary complex, and prove that it admits a natural interpretation as a moduli space of decorated metric graphs. We prove that the dual complexes are contractible when $r \\geq 1$ and $d > g$. When $g = 1$, our result depends on a new understanding of the connected components of boundary strata in the Vakil--Zinger desingularization and its modular interpretation by Ranganathan--Santos-Parker--Wise.","authors_text":"Siddarth Kannan, Terry Dekun Song","cross_cats":["math.CO"],"headline":"","license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"math.AG","submitted_at":"2024-11-05T21:43:05Z","title":"The dual complex of $\\mathcal{M}_{1,n}(\\mathbb{P}^r,d)$ via the geometry of the Vakil--Zinger moduli space"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2411.03518","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:e10c728ca58971138bd3b73b21323290bf8ba08d1076c3a586d8cb34303a7d16","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-15T01:20:44Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"93f309eb47d8a4a17f0115970b6960c9ac5ae5ee758a80d58ddf52a610291d2d","cross_cats_sorted":["math.CO"],"license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"math.AG","submitted_at":"2024-11-05T21:43:05Z","title_canon_sha256":"b32c92a8e211d770ceabbd3dce3d9d6b04eb201eefba2b68ebaadb9a5230c7f3"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2411.03518","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"7587591dfe71d9c1432d3f48bc29e64fd284aa49e4e111630edf10024225c238","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"7587591dfe71d9c1432d3f48bc29e64fd284aa49e4e111630edf10024225c238","first_computed_at":"2026-07-15T01:20:44.431180Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-15T01:20:44.431180Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"xtbZ4+MrQEPNdTAdXzVxflnolgS5LC51Uj18Ek2JEFqFJ6uAWcFZFuiDxoY6QcS5BAjh8jd4N1ubuYze0drWAw==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-15T01:20:44.432220Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2411.03518","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:e10c728ca58971138bd3b73b21323290bf8ba08d1076c3a586d8cb34303a7d16","sha256:2e2149a1986c9e0a3b2cc980c8f3b05a4d75f5929cc96970fe673e5f80236eca"],"state_sha256":"73b880dbf8e27f8f13f763113454b7bda0e5d1127fcdd92ebba6037570e9a7b1"}
