Temporal perturbations coming from a thermal quench in the unstable spinodal region of P-V diagram, may lead to chaos, when a certain perturbation parameter $\\gamma$ saturates a critical value, involving the Gauss-Bonnet coupling $\\alpha$ and the black hole charge $Q$.
