A key tool for analyzing distance-based topological indices in molecular graphs is the Djokovi\\'c-Winkler relation $\\Theta$ and its transitive closure $\\Theta^\\ast$. In this paper we study the behavior of $\\Theta$ and $\\Theta^\\ast$ with respect to full subdivisions.
