A two-dimensional process $(X_t,Y_t)$ reproduces a lead-lag effect if, for some time shift $\\vartheta\\in \\mathbb{R}$, the process $(X_t,Y_{t+\\vartheta})$ is a semi-martingale with respect to a certain filtration.
