The metal-like re-sponse of typical semiconductors such as GaAs or GaP makes it possible to achieve negative refraction and super-guiding in resonant semiconductor/dielectric multilayer stacks, similar to what has been demonstrated in metallo-dielectric photonic band gap structures.
