Here, by combining density functional theory and symmetry analysis, we show that RuF$_4$ monolayer is a two-dimensional $d$-wave altermagnet. Spin-orbit coupling leads to pronounced spin splitting of the electronic bands at the $\\Gamma$ point by $\\sim 100$ meV and turns the RuF$_4$ into a weak ferromagnet due to non trivial spin-momentum locking that cants the Ru magnetic moments. The net magnetic moment scales linearly with the spin-orbit coupli","authors_text":"Marko Milivojevi\\'c, Marko Orozovi\\'c, Martin Gmitra, Silvia Picozzi, Srdjan Stavri\\'c","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"cond-mat.mtrl-sci","submitted_at":"2024-01-27T14:24:11Z","title":"Interplay of altermagnetism and weak ferromagnetism in two-dimensional RuF$_4$"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2401.15424","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:8b6cd09bd97037bdfc4441ade06124f33a957a146c1b37952d3565df8c168cd4","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T08:33:34Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"cf325e951a7a81f98c41e7aec36d5b2ccccf7d2c2e0c7e0c9848910a736f2278","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"cond-mat.mtrl-sci","submitted_at":"2024-01-27T14:24:11Z","title_canon_sha256":"f504ebfd34e1eb21c2302176dbfb1663bf8f8d6e561a30a9cc5690a9f9888bdb"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2401.15424","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"8fba0c49db3c04881b81c3bda31d79c8a8be4b90d7bfe85028a7ac1f99267865","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"8fba0c49db3c04881b81c3bda31d79c8a8be4b90d7bfe85028a7ac1f99267865","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T08:33:34.887711Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T08:33:34.887711Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"jQ+Z6kfsgy5Dh2KFcuiLwxc8US2yxzvvhRz4oWAnDQmFGuEsQCjV4vcBtL94GcAUKHF9HI/0J+vY2gCjxNxGDg==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T08:33:34.888178Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2401.15424","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:8b6cd09bd97037bdfc4441ade06124f33a957a146c1b37952d3565df8c168cd4","sha256:c88521fad98f877a6aca5e0b9836f9a41148c68ea13083e4c2d6d7e34cd5219b"],"state_sha256":"e9cf0a70ba0a76920961cac845e60b166790ec31a24d4d071b8b6dc3b70890b7"}
