Stellar radiation zones with baroclinic stratification can be unstable. Instabilities in radiation zones are of crucial importance for angular momentum transport, mixing of chemical species and, possibly, for magnetic field generation. This paper performs linear analysis of baroclinic instability in differentially rotating stars.
