Using a recently proposed wave function for the nucleon and suitable generalizations of it to the hyperons and decouplet baryons, we obtain the decay widths for the baryon-antibaryon channels in reasonable agreement with data. An important difference to previous work is the use of the c-quark mass in the perturbative calculation instead of the charmonium mass.
