The neutralization reaction is however prevented by the introduction of bulky substitutes and this interesting finding leads to a new concept called frustrated Lewis pairs, FLPs. Since both reactivities of Lewis acids and bases are remained in the same systems, FLPs have been shown many important applications. One of them is hydrogen activation, which showed for the first time the use of a non metal catalyst for that purpose. In this mini review, we have summarized all important findings regarding the ","authors_text":"Bernd Ensing, Binit Lukose, Lei Liu, Pablo Jaque","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"physics.chem-ph","submitted_at":"2018-01-11T11:17:16Z","title":"Reaction mechanism of hydrogen activation by frustrated Lewis pairs"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"1801.03713","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:a80237f22970cfa152a31e637d96d0619c240b47aa33d379e2f1653ead0b1646","target":"record","created_at":"2026-05-18T00:26:13Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"0de7e8c498168fdc12ee6441c5ad4ca5aa3f248900585412669eeba615430360","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"physics.chem-ph","submitted_at":"2018-01-11T11:17:16Z","title_canon_sha256":"25f20f3536a06623af1e1fbd0ea8848b02428abcddf6763a14953c28c7f2efd4"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"1801.03713","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"a3d4763b407524994d81de699ccc7fbf75e5ad11516c298fd89eb92e0d3134fc","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"a3d4763b407524994d81de699ccc7fbf75e5ad11516c298fd89eb92e0d3134fc","first_computed_at":"2026-05-18T00:26:13.616514Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-05-18T00:26:13.616514Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"YM+IlZkdZT6kHxIuJOngqajKxSlu1l4wS776hFkO6FgHA6n8SPdyQxKxOQScRC5JgChfFtC3hmnAUnZMQOk0Ag==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-05-18T00:26:13.617113Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"1801.03713","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:a80237f22970cfa152a31e637d96d0619c240b47aa33d379e2f1653ead0b1646","sha256:9c4b9a8bc21687d55f38963ac7f573685db05ad7f896fb652908c2efa409e6d4"],"state_sha256":"51c55a6b2836c2f3201793052f9182dd1dbfc7055fb9a5adb79f6c6290fb8621"}
