We show that certain representations of open, compact-mod-centre subgroups of $G$, (the maximal simple types of Bushnell and Kutzko) can be realized as concrete spaces. In the level zero case our result is essentially due to Gelfand. This allows us, for a supercuspidal representation $\\pi$ of $G$, to compute a distinguished matrix coefficient of $\\pi$. By integrating, we obtain an explicit Whittaker function for $\\pi$. We use this to compute the epsilon factor of pairs, for supercuspidal r","authors_text":"Shaun Stevens, Vytautas Paskunas","cross_cats":["math.NT"],"headline":"","license":"","primary_cat":"math.RT","submitted_at":"2006-03-02T16:32:54Z","title":"On the realisation of maximal simple types and epsilon factors of pairs"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"math/0603051","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:29cfab060025e47f5bdcce4e4ede0d3f4971b994853e6415691b7c30381fca89","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-04T14:53:56Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"e786af8debbaacd419b5eb87a03f3f6630f680d54e561622d41a39ad9fa94a4a","cross_cats_sorted":["math.NT"],"license":"","primary_cat":"math.RT","submitted_at":"2006-03-02T16:32:54Z","title_canon_sha256":"92691de110cc0848b6d5ed7587af75977e050a83cde505f7bb73e9e1d797c2af"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"math/0603051","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"afeba59dfee6d3a7115843b14841af02c34a65afd96429c914bf8ec647956c0a","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"afeba59dfee6d3a7115843b14841af02c34a65afd96429c914bf8ec647956c0a","first_computed_at":"2026-07-04T14:53:56.600176Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-04T14:53:56.600176Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"VG+03sbOXM9/p5wls46nTpnhl38GhDpMDRHp57RkYRDVyAOYvNN9gRaMBZON7mYlXLbqvNRfP4tZ4Sc4g+REDw==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-04T14:53:56.600525Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"math/0603051","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:29cfab060025e47f5bdcce4e4ede0d3f4971b994853e6415691b7c30381fca89","sha256:abf56e2e8b2125fe2c45b7f8b6e0198441365434dfdf98c437514cc315f0e080"],"state_sha256":"3980c182ef1b4c9e76dc845fbe01e5a2d88d158d8cbbf15fe32502e38f1b67bc"}
