The oldest approach is the inverse sampling transform (ITS) suggested in \\citep{ozaki1979maximum}, but rapidly abandoned in favor of more efficient alternatives. This manuscript shows that the ITS approach can be conveniently discussed in terms of Lambert-W functions.
