The parameters that enter the Hamiltonian are determined from first-principles relativistic calculations for $\\rm \\overline{Ge}|$MoS$_2$ bilayers and MoS$_2|\\rm \\overline{Ge} |$MoS$_2$ trilayers and are used to determine the topological nature of the system.
