We prove that $$ \\sqrt{s^+(G)}\\le\\left(1-\\frac{1}{\\omega(G)}\\right)n. $$ This strengthens Wilf's classical spectral Tur\\'{a}n theorem and resolves a conjecture of Elphick and Wocjan.
