For instance, an image might be a mixture of cartoon and texture structures. In addition, images are often given with missing data. In this paper, we develop a method for simultaneously decomposing an image to its two underlying parts and inpainting the missing data. Our separation inpainting method is based on and $l_1$ minimization approach, using two dictionaries, each sparsifying one of the image parts but not the other. We introduce a comprehensive convergence analysis of our method, in a g","authors_text":"Gitta Kutyniok, Ron Levie, Van Tiep Do","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"math.FA","submitted_at":"2020-09-20T09:34:04Z","title":"Analysis of simultaneous inpainting and geometric separation based on sparse decomposition"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2009.09398","kind":"arxiv","version":3},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:6613de966ad2a94c9a75c1808f19c8123881b8f00aaea9323a3609bf088107c1","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T02:55:52Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"f40b4f992c5dc4e0b35b017a187d6d5441b20620fef0a68a7f9abff310e2b5b0","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"math.FA","submitted_at":"2020-09-20T09:34:04Z","title_canon_sha256":"8616fb7641ae8c9989d4c9b472a9bf14d4813a15f28ce58d30f5f2ef9cccba1d"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2009.09398","kind":"arxiv","version":3}},"canonical_sha256":"ac02984dac054f90a2defcf90559a3569f2b65b8dc6ce345093788de8bfd95d5","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"ac02984dac054f90a2defcf90559a3569f2b65b8dc6ce345093788de8bfd95d5","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T02:55:52.679399Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T02:55:52.679399Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"u2iarNbJTFR08nJnNvFpy5wtJNNiLPkrBJZ+8bS7w0GZQzrq0AiDN1Bm4akRyXHtU3GLgMJwbp380k4VnrxZBw==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T02:55:52.679806Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2009.09398","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":3}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:6613de966ad2a94c9a75c1808f19c8123881b8f00aaea9323a3609bf088107c1","sha256:2a0bed16794badbdcc52ad112eaa886eec01f2dcef6ba7696d19de52fcb712d6"],"state_sha256":"14c11f4a4069fb6ea1bca97a97e14c0d1c74d4e50c3b6eee09e4697c0d33fadf"}
