Normally, MTJs consist of two ferromagnetic (FM) electrodes separated by an insulating barrier layer. Their key functional property is tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) that is a change in MTJ's resistance when magnetization of the two electrodes alters from parallel to antiparallel.
