Therefore, in order to be able to apply a higher gain, feedback cancellation methods are required. In addition, it is oftentimes also desirable to dereverberate a recorded signal, that is, remove the late reverberation component of the signal, before playing it back. In this paper, it is shown that under two mild conditions, the acoustic feedback signal can be written as a reverberant version of the source signal. Therefore, it is possible to treat the joint dereverberati","authors_text":"Arnout Roebben, Basil Liekens, Marc Moonen, Toon van Waterschoot","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/","primary_cat":"eess.AS","submitted_at":"2026-05-29T10:13:24Z","title":"On the Use of Dereverberation for Acoustic Feedback Cancellation"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2605.31101","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:2e8182086251d0f8a226e5c3ea57d2017809d70d9ff2ee07ec0d2aeaca796ade","target":"record","created_at":"2026-06-01T01:03:57Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"fa10ec993e126ecec3a04a21a12ff11ae5310744ca4e41e6b228426c8626fed0","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/","primary_cat":"eess.AS","submitted_at":"2026-05-29T10:13:24Z","title_canon_sha256":"a3abc6e37a3fa0c6f5e4522b7a3a844f282c69b96ef8cc87865ddc1c94f3dad0"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2605.31101","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"b6928749d09e35c30c5312fcb9ea8c47bf2979e35ac3f5f0ad770bffa88ee5cd","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"b6928749d09e35c30c5312fcb9ea8c47bf2979e35ac3f5f0ad770bffa88ee5cd","first_computed_at":"2026-06-01T01:03:57.991701Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-06-01T01:03:57.991701Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"Ca93lweunifVYz9vTkFTf917QSvT952bvPvgg7+sa3nzprh2HwY/pb7DgLLYrfhOGouy9zGGS7Xi6aYYtwsJBQ==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-06-01T01:03:57.992310Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2605.31101","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:2e8182086251d0f8a226e5c3ea57d2017809d70d9ff2ee07ec0d2aeaca796ade","sha256:123ef8f88a0bfb02ea6f3c90db8c262c858e3f426476f2f444bae34083bb44bd"],"state_sha256":"929ff855613765bcad9b21eb2e5bbdaa03a8cc430ae0866e622d6d509dfa355f"}
