Taking inspiration from Differentiable Digital Signal Processing (DDSP), we propose a new vocoder named SawSing for singing voices. SawSing synthesizes the harmonic part of singing voices by filtering a sawtooth source signal with a linear time-variant finite impulse response filter whose coefficients are estimated from the input mel-spectrogram by a neural network. As this approach enforces phase continuity, SawSing can generate singing voices without the phase-discontinu","authors_text":"Da-Yi Wu, Fu-Rong Yang, Oscar Friedman, Scott Bruzenak, Warren Jackson, Wen-Yi Hsiao, Yi-Hsuan Yang, Yi-Wen Liu","cross_cats":["eess.AS"],"headline":"","license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"cs.SD","submitted_at":"2022-08-09T13:06:08Z","title":"DDSP-based Singing Vocoders: A New Subtractive-based Synthesizer and A Comprehensive Evaluation"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2208.04756","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:2d312a6b81253697176d07e2b0aaae4a3535260ad0db0e31e6c84f469f254d65","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T04:49:54Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"63fc599e57cca52d916130a3bb4c2a68f9cf3c10f90241d4c019a986329141a0","cross_cats_sorted":["eess.AS"],"license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/","primary_cat":"cs.SD","submitted_at":"2022-08-09T13:06:08Z","title_canon_sha256":"291dd286f55d604951c3b52123aa3cfabea3d9588ad23e2537627dc601641b10"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2208.04756","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"b0803a761c112c2a38c4b0e9773d8ca5f602dbc6783ba2db0f7d4247df7b131a","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"b0803a761c112c2a38c4b0e9773d8ca5f602dbc6783ba2db0f7d4247df7b131a","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T04:49:54.413143Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T04:49:54.413143Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"BMPJjuGKaXGPHuP7LZQUEhpYtjk2jcQhJb1N4WKN1jey7QQNcjXzC1Kj3x2hrgXd+ZCge6YMI6UclRWs5zxQCQ==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T04:49:54.413495Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2208.04756","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:2d312a6b81253697176d07e2b0aaae4a3535260ad0db0e31e6c84f469f254d65","sha256:934e29984f867bbdbdbcf86abfe695d9a0178960637aeac514a9720889260553"],"state_sha256":"9616940f08179ee4bae16dc1727956ec3748aeccc9eac193d90fbbbf3b93b5d7"}
